I believe good therapy is grounded in research and clinical experience, but it also needs to feel comfortable, honest, and real.

I want you to be able to show up as yourself, speak openly, laugh sometimes, and know you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

My path to becoming a counsellor has been a little different. Before becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I served in the Canadian Armed Forces and worked as a pharmacist. Those experiences shaped how I approach therapy and taught me to look beyond a diagnosis or a set of symptoms to understand the bigger picture of what’s happening in someone’s life.

I do my best to be warm, curious, practical, and I’m not afraid to ask the harder questions when they matter. I’ll meet you where you are while also helping you understand patterns, make connections, and find a way forward that fits your unique life.

I also love working with kids and families. With children, therapy often looks a little different. There may be more play, creativity, movement, and a lot less sitting across from each other talking. I work alongside parents and caregivers too, helping them better understand what their child may be communicating through their emotions and behaviour and finding practical ways to support them at home.

Therapy can be serious work, but it doesn’t have to feel serious all the time. There’s room for humour, honesty, hard conversations, and the occasional swear word (with adults :) too.
