First Responder & Veteran Counselling

Serving others often means carrying experiences that most people never see. Whether you’re a first responder, military member, veteran, or public safety professional, the demands of your role can affect your mental health, relationships, physical well-being, and sense of identity.

Therapy offers a confidential space to process those experiences, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with what matters most.

My Approach

As a Canadian Armed Forces veteran and former (military and civilian) pharmacist, I understand the unique culture of service, responsibility, and high-performance professions. My approach is practical, collaborative, and evidence-based, providing a space where you don’t need to explain the culture before we begin the work.

Together, we’ll focus on building effective strategies while also addressing the deeper experiences that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, trauma, or burnout.

Areas I Commonly Support

First responder and veteran counselling may be helpful for:

  • Operational stress and burnout

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • Grief and cumulative loss

  • Relationship and family challenges

  • Anger and emotional regulation

  • Moral injury and identity changes

  • Transitioning out of military or emergency service

  • Building resilience and healthy coping strategies

What to Expect

Therapy is individualized, confidential, and paced according to your comfort level. Whether you’re navigating a recent critical incident or carrying years of cumulative stress, we’ll work together to develop practical tools, process difficult experiences, and support your long-term mental health.
